A well-known brand in car industry has been serving customers for the past decades and was able to establish five building operation with departments dedicated to new and used car sales, parts, service and collision repair. In facing an increasingly competitive market, it has searched ways to increase sales by further improving employee productivity and customer service. Taking into consideration that applying a video surveillance beyond traditional security is new territory in their part, it was unsure how upgrading to an IP based system and expanding the number of cameras would lead to increased sales. The management was also unsure of how their employees would react. In order to succeed, employees would need to see the camera system as a positive, constructive tool.

Said enterprise installed a mix of 90 dome and fixed IP camera throughout its 5 buildings, showrooms, parking areas and service bays. All these cameras stream high definition, broadcast-quality video so that the smallest details- such as pre-existing damage to a car can be captured. CAT6 cabling was used throughout the installation to ensure the best possible video quality with a monitor for video display. Using Client Software, managers could closely monitor the activities across their departments, customize camera views and access a 30-day history within seconds. They also have access to the live streams via their smart phones. These cameras also educated the managers on how the camera system improves the motivation, enthusiasm and accountability of salespeople, service advisors and cashiers.

As a result, said enterprise’s employees now have a heightened awareness of their work performance, knowing they are being watched and recorded. On the other hand, managers have a better view of lots and service areas and can make sure any unattended customers receive prompt attention. This heightened awareness and increased productivity has improved customer experiences.

One of the biggest candy enterprises in China owns more than 70 marketing branches and has 31 marketing networks from various provinces, cities and autonomous regions. Its production plant is over 500 thousand square meters with more than 30 large scale workshop and more than 120 modern production lines. Establishing a broad scale production and operation brought contemporary management system with new requirements: centralized large scale security; self-business management and distance monitoring from higher departments.

Thus, the enterprise has built up a set of effective and convenient full network video surveillance system to replace its existing DVR surveillance system. This new system offers centralized surveillance and unified management. On the other hand, surveillance set up in production area allows video inspection management and allows higher department to do distance monitoring through internet.

The entire system was built up according to the existing network involving 500 surveillance points at factories and production rooms achieving real time video surveillance, video recording and playback, intelligent alarm collaboration, user centralized management and log management. These functions have completely fulfilled all the requirements of centralized security, video management and distance monitoring. The system is operating under full digital and network treatment from front-end, platform to client.
During the system implementation, the enterprise further raised up other requirements according to their business characteristics. One of the additional requirements is to monitor the attendance of the staffs in the production room, record and count the users who login and logout the system.

The enterprise has achieved unified factory security prevention and video management of production area by using full network video surveillance system. According to their staff, the system has now turned to be the most important section of informative enterprise management and has done a lot in improving the effectiveness of management and productivity.
